Inwood House, a 185 year old child welfare and youth development organization is looking for an experienced, detailed oriented and engaging candidate to serve as the Teen Choice Program Manager. This is a temporary position. The Teen Choice Program Manager is responsible for supervision and oversight of all staff and programming at each New York Teen Choice program site. The Program Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Teen Choice program during school and after school hours his/her host site. He/she ensures that all aspects of the NYS DOH CAPP program are implemented with fidelity and all reporting is completed in a timely manner. The Program Manager supervises the Inwood House Teen Choice Social Worker to support primary and secondary pregnancy prevention initiatives across Inwood House programs. The Program Manager participates in the Inwood House Senior Leadership Team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Ensures that all aspects of the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) CAPP program, as submitted to the NYSDOH, are implemented fully throughout the school year. This includes provision of all in-and-after school services described in the Work Plan, meeting projected goals, and making sure all staff needed to carry out activities are hired, appropriately supervised, and annually evaluated;
Completes all required reporting and documentation for CAPP program. Keeps Senior Director of Prevention Programs appraised of any developments that affect the project, site or staff, and of any direct communications from funders, in a timely manner;
In collaboration with Inwood House fiscal department, develops budgets for all NYC Teen Choice programs. Develops budget related justifications as needed. Provides support to Fiscal Department as needed;
Ensures the proper implementation and reporting of all NYC Teen Choice programs; Serves as the primary program liaison to the NYS DOH and other Teen Choice program funders; participates in funder-related meetings;
Supports fundraising and grant writing efforts of Inwood House Development Department. Provides Development Department with information related to current or proposed programming in a timely manner;
Ensures consistency of evidence-based curricula and the Teen Choice curriculum across all Teen Choice Programs and Peer Leader program;
Ensures that all staff are fully trained in their respective areas of expertise including up-to-date training on sexual and reproductive health. Oversees the professional development of the Teen Choice team;
Leads monthly Teen Choice staff meeting and professional development sessions; In collaboration with the Senior Director of Prevention Programs, leads Teen Choice Group supervision;
Provides regular supervision to Program Coordinators of two CAPP program sites, reviews monthly program reports and quarterly program reports, and completes annual employee evaluations;
In conjunction with Inwood House Human Resources, recruits and trains candidates for vacant positions;
Supports the implementation of all programming at Teen Choice program sites. Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with all NYC Teen Choice host program sites; In collaboration with the Senior Director of Prevention and other Inwood House program directors, develops and implements plans to enhance and expand the program according to service needs and resources of the agency;
Takes a leadership role within Inwood House and actively participates in the Inwood House Senior Leadership Team;
In conjunction with the Department of QI, Research and Evaluation and program staff, oversees statistics and service records in accordance with agency program and funding source directives for program monitoring and evaluation; Support planning and logistics for Teen Choice related school-wide and community health events; Participates in training of staff of other agencies when requested. Participates in interpreting the program and services to Inwood House’s Board, and the community; Attends training and relay information to colleagues during staff meetings; Presents at conferences and agency-sponsored meetings to promote the Teen Choice Program; Maintains cooperative working relationships with collaborating agencies and community based organizations; Works collaboratively with all funders and Board Members during school/program visits; Cooperates with researchers when any research is conducted on the Teen Choice program (provided that agency has approved our participation).
Minimum Requirements: LCSW or LCSW eligible preferred. Experienced LMSWs will be considered. Must have at least three years experience and one year of experience supervising staff. Recent graduates will not be considered for the position. Candidate should have experience with group work, family work, and a commitment to working with adolescents and their families. The worker must be able to work independently in a host setting and must be comfortable discussing issues of sexuality.
