SUMMARY: Provide a vital link to community services for King County seniors who might otherwise remain homebound and isolated.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide access to transportation services to older persons residing in KingCounty by arranging and scheduling services with volunteer drivers. Also provide information, assistance and referral through telephone screening and assessment, advocacy and follow-up.
Help coordinate and schedule a corps of 400 volunteer drivers through weekly email and telephone communication to provide motivation, accurate information and support in order to respond to their needs and promote driver retention.
Maintain effective working relationship with other transportation providers, specifically community partners such as Group Health Transportation Program, medical facilities, social workers and other social service providers to ensure efficient service delivery. Refer clients to the Hyde Shuttle staff when appropriate.
Accurately enter data into the transportation computer system. Maintain and update client files, recording demographic, trip request information and other client comments in a clear, accurate and objective manner. Complete all reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Assist in maintaining the transportation resource files, including other transportation service providers, parking options and medical facilities.
Monitor clients and refer those with needs other than transportation to Senior Information and Assistance for follow-up. Keep the Transportation Program Director informed of the concerns of both clients and volunteer drivers
Assist/backup other Transportation staff as needed.
Demonstrate an eagerness to learn and enhance skills that promote equity and inclusion.
Participate in events related to understanding institutional racism and other forms of oppression.
Other duties as needed, assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or 4 years directly related experience in lieu of the degree.
Two years’ paid or volunteer experience providing services to older people preferred.
Experience working with volunteers preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills, specifically the ability to relate well on the telephone with older persons.
Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Proficient computer skills in MS Office required, including excellent data entry skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
Knowledge of community transportation resources available for older persons is desired.
Bilingual skills a plus.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
$17.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, plus great benefits.
Work schedule – Monday – Friday.
