Main purpose of job: To leverage existing Party resources and networks to help www.cadem.org and additional digital properties reach full capacity as a resource for Party activists and as a distribution point for brand-consistent content.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Develop and implement plans to replenish website and social media properties with up-to-date, engaging content.
Proactively post updates via CDP website’s content management system and WordPress-powered blog.
Quickly incorporate incoming photo, video, and written content for website display and distribution across social channels.
Draft website content including: blog posts, video content, features, email alerts and homepage headlines.
Update headlines on website home page to promote key content under the supervision of the Communications Director.
Lead yearly process of updating and revising www.cademconvention.org website in a way that is consistent with the year’s theme, speakers list, and delegate needs.
Use Convio CRM system to send email updates to organization’s delegates and activist list.
Draft content and post updates to CDP Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts with approval of the Communications Director.
Direct Campaign & Communications Associate on research as needed to fulfill Digital Content producer responsibilities by: tracking down web video and news stories.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 1-2 years experience developing content for a non-profit advocacy organization, consulting firm, or Democratic organization/candidate.
Strong writing skills a must.
Familiarity with video editing a strong plus.
Experience with Convio or similar CRM system a plus.
Familiarity with design tools and concepts and working knowledge of basic HTML.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain sense of focus in a rapidly evolving environment.
Ability and desire to work in a team environment, coordinating with both internal CDP partners and external communication team members.
