Public Policy Productions has produced 31 documentaries for national public television. Over the past three decades these documentaries have won over 150 awards including Peabody, Emmy, and duPont-Columbia awards, as well as two Academy Award nominations. Our current PBS production, DREAM ON, features political comedian John Fugelsang as he hits the road in search of the vanishing American Dream after decades of rising income inequality and declining economic mobility. Our other current production, FIRST DEGREE, puts a human face on a college behind bars that prevents released inmates from returning to prison.
Other recent productions include MONEY AND MEDICINE about the dangers the nation faces from runaway health care spending, NO TOMORROW about the death penalty, CRITICAL CONDITION about the uninsured, AGING OUT about teenagers leaving foster care, WAGING A LIVING about low-wage workers struggling to lift their families out of poverty, THE MAIN STREAM about an offbeat Mississippi River journey, and SOUND AND FURY about a family torn apart by a medical technology which promises to end deafness.
