American Conservatory Theater, one of the country’s leading regional theaters and actor training institutions, seeks dynamic professional with extensive fundraising experience to join multi-faceted development team. The Associate Director, Institutional Giving and Corporate Relations is responsible for securing all foundation, corporate, and government grants and sponsorships and provides oversight and direction to the Grants Manager. They are the primary relationship manager with foundation and government program officers, and with representatives at corporations. The associate director keeps current on institutional grant making trends and practices and actively pursues new funding sources from corporations and foundations.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Direct responsibility for securing all corporate, foundation, and government grants and sponsorships.
Evaluate and Grow A.C.T.’s corporate programs
Serve as primary relationship manager with corporate, foundation, and government representatives and program officers.
Oversee and evaluate sponsorship proposals and agreements as well as coordinate sponsor benefit fulfillment.
Solicit in-kind support and manage sponsor/donor relationships.
Qualifications:
Five to eight years demonstrated outstanding performance in fundraising in a complex, non-profit environment, preferably in the arts. At least five years of experience at a management level. Knowledge of the San Francisco philanthropic community preferred.
Excellent writing and organizational skills; sound judgment and strong professional presence. Excellent administrative and management skills, including experience managing individuals performing diverse tasks. Demonstrated ability to train, direct, supervise, and motivate staff. Possession of a collegial management style that promotes teamwork, creativity, and open communication. Ability to motivate and interact effectively with board, volunteers, donors, and staff at all levels. Ability to understand and effectively articulate the mission and goals of the American Conservatory Theater.
