Feminist-In-Residence / Artistic Directing Fellowship – Girl Be Heard – New York, NY

Girl Be Heard (GBH) is seeking Artistic Directing Fellows to work and learn in our New York City office for 10-15 hours/week. The fellow would report to the Artistic Driector. This is a paid, part-time position.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing Girl Be Heard’s artistic programming.
Assist in implementing our summer political/street theatre intensive.
Work with GBH Company Members on developing personal writing and ensemble-devised performances.
Assist in editing company members’ work and script development.
Assist in artistic strategic planning and 2015-2016 season building.
Develop and maintain relationships with other theatre and community-oriented organizations locally, nationally, and globally.
Attend GBH production meetings.
Have flexible schedule and availability on some week nights and evenings.

Qualifications

College degree (completed or in progress)
Creative vision
Background in theatre, ensemble devised theatre, social justice, women’s studies, activism
Some experience in designing and/or implementing programs for marginalized communities
Computer literacy: Excel, Word, Outlook. QuickBooks knowledge a plus
Strong communications skills, both oral and written
Strong research and analytical skills
Experience in grant writing a plus
Social media savvy a plus
