About The Story of Stuff Project
The Story of Stuff Project was founded in 2008 to leverage one of the earliest and most successful cause-related viral movies: Annie Leonard’s The Story of Stuff. Our mission is to transform the way we make, use and throw away Stuff. Over the past six years, our trademark animated movies have garnered more than 44 million online views and our Community has supported dozens of environmental campaigns and projects with their time, energy, and money.
Our social media platforms are an entry point into the core messages of our work, and serve as an invitation to people all around the world to learn about our problems with Stuff, join our Community, and take action to build a better world.
Position Summary
The Fellows will work closely with each other in a digital environment to share ideas, sources, trending issues, and best practices and learnings. From this content, as well as from existing Story of Stuff content and campaigns, they will create new content for our blog and social platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
The purpose of the fellowship program is not only to increase the capacity of our Community Engagement Team in reaching more people all around the world, but also to provide professional development opportunities for job applicants from communities that are underrepresented in the current professional social media landscape.
