JOB DESCRIPTION:
Direct Relief seeks a dynamic Campaign Manager to lead the organization’s efforts to secure a new headquarters through the implementation of a capital campaign. While much of the campaign planning has been implemented by temporary counsel, this individual will build on existing campaign momentum and lead the organization to its goal. The Campaign Manager will be the lead in developing and executing campaign strategies through its completion, and will maintain responsibility for creating and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, with an emphasis on major gifts. The Campaign Manager will work closely with Development staff and volunteer leadership to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership in advancing and managing a growing major gift campaign, tracking milestones along established benchmarks
Develop and implement successful cultivation and solicitation strategies for high level donors and prospects for campaign support
Meet with and solicit gifts from donors and prospects, both independently and working collaboratively with staff, Board of Directors, and volunteer campaign leadership.
Help guide and provide fundraising support to Board members and other volunteers, including following up regularly on assigned tasks to advance the campaign
Staff and guide volunteer campaign leadership, made up of current and former Board members, by providing strategic and operational support as needed
Employ tools and strategies to grow and build a vibrant prospect pool, providing background information and developing profiles for each prospect
Collaborate in developing collateral materials to be used in meetings and proposals
Develop and execute well-designed stewardship plan, including fulfillment of donor acknowledgements, foundation requirements, and regular cultivation
Oversee maintenance of donor and prospect records in Raiser’s Edge database
Track proposals and campaign results, regularly providing reports to CEO and Board of Directors
Work with directors of individual giving, foundations, and corporations to help advance each acquisition strategy for the campaign
Continue to build the campaign pipeline to forecast next steps for gift acquisition, at least three months
Assume the lead role in planning and executing monthly campaign strategy meetings with the Campaign Executive Committee, which includes current and former Board members
Qualification, Knowledge, and Skills:
Demonstrated successful fundraising, sales, or business development experience
Ideal candidate will have knowledge of campaign development, major gift solicitation, donor recognition, and corporate and foundation relations
Significant experience in strategizing and implementing multi-year, multi-stream campaigns or other similar projects
Self-motivated with high degree of initiative and entrepreneurial spirit
Superb interpersonal and communication skills
Highly professional with the ability to build confidence with volunteers
Innovative and strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Highly organized; skilled in managing multiple projects and balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Passion for and commitment to Direct Relief’s mission
Proficiency using fundraising software, Raiser’s Edge preferred
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends
Bachelor’s degree required
