Clinical Chief of Adult and Women – Mission Neighborhood Health Center – San Francisco, CA

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Duties 65%
• Provides ambulatory acute, chronic, and preventative medical services in accordance with Community National Standards of Practice and DHHS. Is responsible for accurate and timely submission of billing encounters for these services. Facilitates the effective transition to care for our hospitalized, emergency room, and referred patients according to MNHC protocols.
• Reviews or delegates all urgent/critical laboratory results if ordering provider is not available.
• Fulfills all credentialing and re-credentialing requirements including maintaining accurate records as needed for state licensing and obligations with payor contracting.
• Participates in consultation, supervision and preceptorships of mid-level practitioners, as needed.

Administrative Duties 35%
• Creates or reviews all clinical and workflow protocols
• Conducts yearly performance evaluations of the staff he/she directly supervises and participates in discipline of department’s professional staff as appropriate.
• Is a member of the MNHC Quality Assurance Committee and participates in Clinical Chiefs and Department Heads Committee Meetings.
• Provides leadership clinical vision in the development of culturally competent care in the areas of emerging or existing need such as hepatitis C treatment, reproductive health, breast health, and menopause.
• Support process improvement initiatives that enhance Team Based Care and PCMH recognition.
• Works with Nurse Clinic Managers to maintain quality performance of medical assistants and efficient clinic flow
• Is responsible for monitoring productivity of clinic providers on a routine basis.
• Shares responsibility with other administrators for yearly cyclic departmental audits including Section 330 Grant, Medi-Cal, CHDP, and HEDIS audits by individual health plans. When deficiencies are encountered, is responsible for oversight of the corrective action required for compliance.
• Attends clinical or departmental meetings as directed by the Medical Director.
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities as designated by the Medical Director.
• Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Licensed in the state of California and current DEA registration.
• Board certified/Eligible or residency trained in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Osteopathy.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Skills and Abilities: Proven leadership experience; Strong attention to detail and organization; Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively; Superior decision making and problem solving skills; Ability to effectively interact with customers, vendors, members of the executive team and employees; Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate and present ideas that establish credibility while building positive professional relationships; Ability to provide and support a vision and direction; Initiative to thrive in a dynamic environment of rapidly changing needs; Ability to work well under pressure; Must be a highly motivated team player with the ability to self-direct.
• Two years of previous management & supervisory experience preferred
• Experience in a managed care setting.
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer and Practice Management Systems.
