Clinical Group Facilitator – New York – The Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation

SUMMARY:
The Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation is working to end the cycle of domestic violence through its comprehensive youth programming. The Margaret’s Place program is a community-based violence intervention and prevention program designed to help students, faculty, and families address violence in school, at home and in the community. The Margaret’s Place program addresses the underlying causes of violence and the impact of victimization through a variety of counseling and psycho-educational modalities including art-based interventions: an interactive trauma education/violence prevention curriculum; individual, group, and family counseling; school staff, parent and community workshops/outreach; community-wide anti-violence campaigns, and more. Through a partnership with Violence Intervention Program, Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation is expanding clinical services to parents and families in our school communities. The position plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of clinical services including counseling groups and community connections in South Bronx, Harlem, Central and Eastern Queens and Central and Eastern Brooklyn.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Co-facilitate clinical counseling groups and supportive workshops with Violence Intervention Program
Participate in planning meetings with Violence Intervention Program and maintain ongoing feedback loop based on needs/services
Support development of parent counseling group guide and group materials
Participate in weekly program and clinical supervision

REQUIREMENTS:
Bilingual Spanish required
Master’s level clinical degree (MSW, MA in Counseling or Creative Arts Therapy etc), LMSW preferred.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience working with a diverse population
Strong understanding of domestic violence, teen relationship abuse and violence prevention/intervention work preferred
Knowledge of social service work with youth & parents preferred
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a passion for strength-based, family empowerment work; will exhibit creativity in their approach of job tasks and challenges; and will be self-motivated

SALARY:
$30-$35/hour, commiserate with experience
