Mental Health Program Internship, Youth – Bring Change 2Mind – San Francisco, CA

Bring Change 2 Mind (BC2M) is a national anti-stigma and mental health awareness organization that aims to remove the misconceptions and discrimination associated with mental illness. Founded in 2010 by the actress Glenn Close, BC2M has reached millions of people with its scientifically measured Public Service Announcements and programs.

BC2M is currently launching the pilot phase of its new high school initiative “Lets Erase The Stigma” (LETS BC2M) with 27 Bay Area high schools, The intern will work closely with both the program and research team during the Fall semester of this pilot.

We are seeking one intern for the fall semester. This is an unpaid position.

Specific Responsibilities

1) Assist in the management of high school clubs.

2) Liaise with the research team and disseminate feedback to the staff and board.

3) Conduct research on emerging mental health programs and campaigns.

4) Draft articles for LETS BC2M newsletter.

5) Update the LETS BC2M social media pages.

6) Draft announcements and articles about the LETS BC2M program when necessary.

7) Assist with administrative tasks when necessary.

Qualifications

1) Graduate student in public health, behavioral health or related discipline.

2) Commitment of 20-25 hours per week.

3) A basic understanding of and an interest in mental health

4) Posses strong organizational, research, writing, and communication skills.

5) Detail oriented.

6) Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

7) Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work proactively and independently, as well as part of a team.

8) Access to a car and willingness to travel Bay Area high schools if required (mileage reimbursed).
