Job Summary: The Intensive Support (IS) Therapist will be working as a team member and coach to Juvenile Specialist staff, participate in Service Plan Reviews, facility community meetings and interacts with the youth and the Juvenile Specialists in the IS program. The IS Therapist will have regular therapeutic involvement with their assigned youth and families using established methods of the STAIR-A and Think Trauma Model, as well as knowledge of Integrative Treatment and MST-FIT Models. The IS therapist is responsible for providing consistent and timely delivery of assessments, treatment reports, and recommendations in the 21 day time frame of the IS program.

Responsibilities:

Provides assessment and crisis intervention therapy services for youth, families & resources in accordance best clinical practice; lobbies energetically for the appropriate services for the youth both in individual and group capacities.
Ensures the timely completion of assessments and treatment plan progress.
Participates in facility’s Intake, Progress, and Discharge team meetings
Ensures efficacious treatment planning and service coordination in collaboration with internal and external resources
Coordinates mental health information flow for team and support services.
Develops creative strategies for involving family members in the service planning process
Assists youth and Juvenile Specialists with crisis intervention and resolution including Safety Plans.
Supports the ideology and practice of STAIR-A, and Think Trauma Model principles.
Assures timely delivery and monitoring of all clinical deliverables in IS program.
Models and promotes dependable, responsible, professional and accountable behavior including positive program norms, enthusiasm, and teamwork primacy
Addresses and discourages negative behaviors in youth while promoting positive behaviors
Provides substance abuse support services as needed.

Qualifications

LMSW, LMHC or LCSW required
Familiarity with Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy
2+ Years experience in Child Welfare
Experiencing working with youth and families in Residential setting preferred
Knowledge of CONNECTIONS and Microsoft Office Suite
