Job description

We are looking for one or more psychiatrists interested in working at our residential treatment facility in the Weeksville area of Brooklyn, which provides long-term mental health services for 14 – 18 year old boys and girls who have been remanded to secure State juvenile justice facilities. The position involves taking an active part in the on-going long-term inpatient care of very difficult youngsters with severe mental illness who could not be successfully manged in other settings. The 24-bed Brooklyn program opened in June, 2012 in a completely renovated building, and was recently cited by the Governor’s Commission on Juvenile Justice Reform as a model for mental health services for severely ill delinquent youngsters.

The position could require up to 24 hours a week, primarily on weekday afternoons.
