Position Description:
Responsible for monitoring the safety and conduct of house residents, and providing clinical and crisis intervention as needed.

Performance Evaluation:
For the first full year employees are evaluated following three months, six months and one year of employment. From the second year on they are evaluated semi-annually. If at any time performance is unsatisfactory, the employee receives a written warning, or a probation notice depending on the severity of the concern. Up to three weeks later, the employee is again reviewed and either placed on probation for no more than six weeks or terminated. After probation either the employee is terminated or the conflict is resolved. Failure to consistently improve performance will result in terminated. Non-professional conduct may result in immediate termination. Performance evaluation criteria includes proficiency in written and oral communication, time and attendance, documentation, technical knowledge, delivery of services, planning and organizing, training/consultation, initiative, attitude and cooperation, relationship with clients, staff, and supervisor, dependability and adaptability.
Education Requirements
Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED. A minimum of 2 to 3 years relevant experience in Human Services or related field, preferably working with adolescents/young adults, is required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the reporting, planning and implementation of the weekend activity schedule.
Makes regular house check inspections inside the building and in the area immediately outside, and check each room when necessary.
Provide the Program Director with timely and accurate documentation of all services provided, including client progress reports and reports of problems that require immediate attention.
Provides crisis intervention and on-site counseling.
Carry out emergency fire evacuation, and emergency procedures in case of an illness or accident.
Provides office coverage, answer and record all phone calls and visitors, maintain supervision of the house, enforce house rules and ensure house safety.
Maintain familiarity with local services (both within and outside the Agency) that might serve as resources and identify those client needs which require outside referrals, including, but not limited to: health care mental health care, educational services/schools, alcohol and drug abuse treatment and education, big siblings/mentors, sex education and AIDS prevention.
Initiate and implement special projects/activities that will benefit the residents.
Provides crisis intervention and on-site counseling.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
To the extent possible, participate in training provided or recommended by the Agency.
Attend and participate in monthly all- staff meetings and other meetings/activities identified by the program director.
Meet for regular supervision with the Program Director/Clinical Coordinator
Knowledge and Skills Desired:
Experience working with homeless youth, at-risk youth, and underserved populations is strongly desired
