SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing fund-raising support for the Director of Development and other aspects of the hospital Fund office upon supervisor request. Maintaining a high level of communication with donors and overseeing all digital and chronological files of donors and gift records; primary point person for data and donor gift entry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for accurate and confidential record keeping, date entry and processing of donors and gifts.
2. Process donor gifts, personal acknowledgement letters and maintain corresponding donor information for Director of Development.
3. Must be able to utilize and access donor information using Raisers Edge donor database upon donor/staff inquiries as well as run donor revenue reports for review and quality control and assist with gift audit process.
4. Assist in Moves Management data entry for Capital Campaign and Major Gift prospects.
5. Heavy telephone contact with donors; friendly and serviceable telephone manner imperative at all times.
6. Responsible for additional donor-related projects as assigned.
7. Provide assistance and support for other Fund activity as needed.
8. Must attend and professionally represent the Fund at special events as needed.
9. Must have professional experience to provide expert assistance and support, while handling multiple administrative tasks at the same time.
10. Ability to interact professionally with accomplished, high-profile individuals with a positive, can-do attitude.
11. Assist Director of Development with developing and implementing new initiatives with the goal of deepening donor involvement and commitment while engaging new donors; must be able to build partnerships with top donors.
12. Ability to independently educate donors and prospects about hospital and its mission.
13. Ability to assist Director of Development with tracking online giving.
14. Ability to read through direct mail/giving reports and assists with analyzing giving categories and trends.
15. Work within legal, ethical practice standards as well as hospital’s Code of Conduct. Comply with appropriate policies and procedures and bring potential compliance matters to supervisor or compliance officer.
16. Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at the hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Extensive photo-copying, scanning, and direct phone and email contact.
2. Process payments for invoices for hospital Fund
3. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required;
2. Minimum of five years of administration experience in a fundraising or nonprofit work setting;
3. Highly proficient in appropriate applied software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
4. Excellent written and verbal communication is absolutely essential; detail-oriented with proofreading skills.
5. Highly detail-oriented and organized while maintaining a proactive approach to problem solving without constant direction;
6. Capacity to multi-task and prioritize using time-management skills;
7. Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills for staff maintaining a team-oriented philosophy and approach.
8. Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition as required by specific job duties and functions.
