Development Intern – Engage Globally – Washington, DC

Engage Globally is seeking Development and Communication Interns to support fundraising, social media, diverse research projects, and to conduct local activism projects . The ideal intern is an advanced high school or university student interested in conservation and/or international development and who plans to pursue a job with an NGO in the future. This internship is a telecommuting position and can be completed by anyone living in the United States.

Engage Globally:

Engage is a small non-governmental organization (NGO) located in Washington DC that supports community-led sustainable development. We provide financial and technical support to local communities to implement effective education and conservation projects. Currently our focus is on funding education projects in Northern Ghana and conservation efforts in Costa Rica.

Interns will be involved with the following:

Conduct their own and assist with other crowdfunding projects
Connect and collaborate with other students and student groups that might be interested in working with Engage
Conduct online research into potential partners – both educational and service providers in the relevant countries.
Support growth of social media efforts through awareness raising activities and collection of materials for social media.

Interns are asked to work 10-15 hours per week as telecommuters. Interns will benefit from having:

Strong email communication skills
Ability to work independently following a guide
Strong written communication
Interest in collaboration with other students
