Development Intern – Spring 2015 – National Stroke Association – Centennial, CO

Project Description: The Development Intern would support development staff in the identification and cultivation of mid-to-major donor prospects. They would evaluate giving history, constituent engagement and participate in some donor cultivation. The Development Intern would also support in recruitment and stewardship of peer fundraisers, Stroke Challenge team members and community fundraising event hosts.

The Development Intern will participate in creation and evaluation of donor reports, hand written and electronic donor communication and other duties as assigned, as it relates to cultivation and stewardship of non-corporate revenue opportunities.

Impact of Internship: Increase total organizational revenue, increase engagement with current and prospect donors.

Skills and Qualifications Needed:

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to learn new software
Ability to build rapport with new people easily and quickly
Interest or experience in fundraising a plus

Time Commitment: Minimum ½ day in the office per week, preferably one full day.
