Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls seeks a part-time, short-term Development Intern. Internship responsibilities include the areas listed below, and other areas as needed. This is a great opportunity in a small, energetic development office for hands-on learning about all facets of multi-component development program. Internship available end of March – August. 8-10 hours/week. Unpaid.

About the Organization
Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls is a non-profit music and mentoring program that empowers girls and women through music education, volunteerism, and activities that foster self-respect, leadership skills, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. The organization serves more than 250 girls and women annually through a summer day camp, after school programs, adult intensive sessions, and community events at locations throughout New York City, and at its Brooklyn headquarters, Willie Mae Music Lab.
Rock Camp is dedicated to serving a diverse group of youth and adults from varying economic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds. All programs are free or offered with sliding scale tuition. More than 150 volunteers participate annually as teachers, mentors, and in a wide variety of leadership and support roles.
Responsibilities:
DONOR MANAGEMENT
Update donor database
Process donor receipts and acknowledgment letters
Assist in large-scale donor mailings
EVENT SUPPORT
Assist in all aspects of organizing and executing fundraising raffles
Assist in location scouting for fundraising events
Staff fundraising events as necessary
PROGRAM SUPPORT
Solicit/renew food donations from community partners
Work with staff and volunteers in preparing written materials, including newsletters, showcase programs, annual report, etc.

Strong follow-up skills
Strong troubleshooting skills
Experience with, sensitivity to and enthusiasm for working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences
Familiarity with and/or openness to discussing/learning about anti-oppressive and social justice principles
Experience & comfortability working in a small, creative, collaborative office environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google platforms, WordPress, Adobe suite and social media a plus
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
