Rescue:Freedom International is working to End Slavery one life at a time.

Created to empower local efforts with international support and expertise, we support a growing network of service providers in eight countries who are familiar with and sensitive to the culture and community within which victims live. By mobilizing resources, knowledge, and funding, we work together to restore lives broken by sexual slavery through programs such as night shelters, safe houses, medical clinics, and vocational training.

As the Director of Development you will be responsible for ensuring that giving partners have an exceptional experience with Rescue:Freedom. This includes an appropriate and meaningful “thank you” for their gift, consistent communications about what their giving did, and well-timed invitations to continue their support. The Director of Development will collaborate with the executive team to share stories of rescue, restoration, empowerment and prevention that inspire hope, compel generosity and attract large scale interest.

Responsibilities:
Manage a comprehensive communications and development plan aligned with R:FI’s mission, vision, goals, and strategic plan.
Manage the experience that donors and partners undergo as they hear about, explore and invest in R:FI.
Responsible for development and maintenance of Corporate and Cause-Marketing Programs
Responsible for enhancing and elevating social fundraising platforms which includes helping campaigners raise funds and also engaging donors that hear about R:FI through these campaigns or events
Responsible for creation of collateral that engages all types of donors
Responsible for managing and creating various forms of content for integrated campaigns across a wide variety of channels, including but not limited to: social media, web, print, voice, and film while ensuring brand voice consistency
Work closely with both internal partners and external agencies
Maintain deadlines and negotiate alternative plans as needed

Competency:

Experience in sales, fundraising or a related field
Great sense of humor, positive outlook, and able to effectively receive and communicate feedback

Willingness to travel if needed

Strength of character that will allow them to empower, support and celebrate the success of others.
Results-oriented and process driven, with high expectations of self and team
Experience in copy writing and editing content production (an asset)
Publication and media experience (an asset)
Entrepreneurial spirit and a relentless learner
Management experience leading teams
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and collaborate
Ability to be entrepreneurial and take initiative
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
