Job Description:
The Director of Development will join a small office staff and dedicated Board of Directors as we launch our third decade of work in central Vietnam. This position will be responsible for creating and managing PeaceTrees Vietnam’s annual fund development strategy, major gifts, and donor stewardship and fundraising events. This position may require occasional travel to Vietnam (up to 2-3 weeks/year).
With the support and collaboration of the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and existing staff, the
Director of Development will:
1. Direct and Manage Annual Giving
Create and manage Annual Campaign
Work with the Board of Directors and staff to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts
Formalize and oversee stewardship program for all donors
Lead the production of gift acknowledgements and oversee annual appeal program as well as other fundraising initiatives
2. Plan and Execute Fundraising Events and Assist with PR
Plan program, themes and speakers for Annual Luncheon. Contact key attendees, develop and shepherd strong table captains. Work with board members, founders, and existing staff to capture method and gain contacts
Oversee media relations, social media communication, media production and general branding of programs
3. Oversee Membership Development and Marketing
Identify new audiences to introduce to and engage in PeaceTrees work
Plan, manage and direct PeaceTrees’ efforts to attract private support from individuals, corporations, and foundations
4. Identify Opportunities for Foundation Support
Develop new grant opportunities
Lead efforts to build foundation relationships
Qualifications:
Experience in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts
A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies which raised individual gifts
Thorough understanding of all components of a diversified funding base
Experience planning and executing large fundraising events
Experience in storytelling through different mediums (written, verbal, visual, social), a plus
Successful experience in coaching and managing key high-level volunteers (individuals, Board committees, etc.) to be effective fundraisers, a plus
Strong track record in exercising sound, timely judgment
Knowledge of International Development philanthropic community, a plus
