Instructional Designer Part-Time
John Jay College
John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York invites applications for a part-time position as an Instructional Designer.
Reporting to and collaborating with the Director of Instructional Design at John Jay Online, the Instructional Designer will be required to:
Manage course development projects as appropriate to project goals, timeline, and budget.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and other course development team members to design, develop, evaluate, and refine online courses.
Ensure the application of appropriate guidelines to online courses and programs in areas such as outcome assessment, accessibility, and copyright issues.
Participate as mentor in faculty development courses, workshops, and programs on online teaching and course development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree and six years’ relevant experience required.
OTHER QUALIFICATION
Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or other relevant discipline areas, preferred
3 to 6 years of relevant experience in the development of online courses
Familiarity with project and problem-based learning, experiential learning, outcome assessments, accessibility guidelines, and copyright law, preferred.
Familiarity with educational technologies that foster collaboration and other multimedia e-learning technologies.
Experience at the college or university level, preferred
Demonstrated ability to regularly collaborate with others in a team environment, and work independently on assigned duties with minimal supervision
