School Nurse – Roseville Community Charter School

DESCRIPTION
The school nurse is responsible for promoting health and safety at Roseville Community Charter School and providing health services to students, faculty and staff. In addition, the nurse will assist with the teaching of sound health practices.

Responsibilities
Exemplify, advocate and operationalize the mission, vision and core values of the school.
Develop and maintain accurate student health records, including required immunizations and information on pre-existing medical conditions
Conduct health services and screening programs as required by law
Dispense prescribed medications at appropriate intervals, according to physicians’ instructions
Contact families or emergency contact persons in the event of serious illness, injury, or other medical emergency
In collaboration of with physical education teacher, write and deliver instruction on health and wellness, fitness, and motor skill development
Communicate health-related advisories and potential crises in a manner that is calm and instructive
Conduct outreach to community service agencies in order to provide families with relevant information and resources regarding student health
Complete other responsibilities as the School Director may request

Qualifications and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
New Jersey School Nurse certificate
Experience working in environments that service both children and adults
Openness to feedback, willingness to take personal responsibility, and a desire to learn from others
Unwavering in pursuit of excellence even in the face of difficult opposition and challenges
