Volunteer Coordinator – Foresters – San Francisco, CA

Reporting to the Manager, Member Development, the Member Relationship Coordinator will be the face of Foresters within the local community. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the development of local Foresters member volunteers through the facilitation of various activities.

Key Responsibilities/accountabilities

Development of Foresters member volunteers through activities and organizational programs
Execute volunteer activities and family events primarily on weekends
Identify potential volunteer activity opportunities
Administrative duties include; reporting, on line expense and workhour submissions, online, email management and related tasks

Key Qualifications/competencies

Demonstrated experience successfully working with volunteers on a regular basis is required
Understanding of volunteer motivations and processes is preferred
Demonstrated community involvement and or volunteerism
Previous experience in event planning or project management is necessary
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable with spokesperson and presentation role
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the Internet
Experience with measuring, recording and maintaining event information and results
Knowledge of local community
Ability to work from home. A computer, printer/scanner, email, internet, phone (mobile or landline with unlimited calling plan) are required
Ability to travel locally with access to own vehicle; Foresters related mileage can be expensed
This casual role requires approximately 20 hours per month. This will fluctuate throughout the year depending on when activities take place
